Over the years, ELW® groups across the country have enjoyed the opportunity to share fellowship in the form of enacted plays, skits and oral readings. In particular, Advent and Christmas are seasons of the year when groups look forward to this kind of program.

Use one of our self-contained skits/readings to enhance your celebration:

An Advent Quiz: This lighthearted quiz tests how much participants really know about the events leading up to Christ's birth.
Advent is Waiting: This simple program reminds us that the greatest gift of Advent is in the waiting.
Angel Whispers: An Advent Program: This program focuses our attention on the role of the angels in the Christmas story.
From Everlasting to Everlasting: This playful skit about the mounting of a contemporary pageant is designed to incorporate as many members of a congregation as wish to participate.

"Thank you for sharing the program 'From Everlasting to Everlasting.' The drama suited our congregation as we no longer have enough children for a Sunday school. The drama left us with a good message and a challenge to keep the story of Christmas going---from everlasting to everlasting." Elaine Johnson, Torquay, SK.
Gifts: An Advent Challenge:This script for two actors helps us reconsider our emphasis on material gifts and reminds us of the gifts each of us brings without having to shop.
Look Who's Expecting: The script for four women reminds of just what it is we are waiting for in Advent.

Mary’s Call: This devotional reading is a wonderful way to focus a meeting or other small gathering during Advent.

No Room: This reading includes parts for seve people and contrasts the Jesus birth narrative with our modern day experience of Christmas.
Preparing for the Advent of Advent: This script for five actors takes a playful approach to the age-old question, "How do we slow down so as not to miss Advent in the rush up to Christmas?"
The Bells of Christmas: This litany includes reflections, music and scripture readings puncuated by the ringing of a bell.
Wondering and Wandering Through Advent: This meditation for two voices is centred in Luke 1:39-56.
