ELW® provides opportunities for participants to leave a legacy to the organization. A planned gift helps sustain ELW into the future so that we can continue to live out the gospel through mission and to share our faith through mentorship, discipleship and advocacy.

Whether you have the means of the philanthropist Dorcas or the widow with her two small copper coins, you can assist in enabling this vital ministry to grow.

Planned Gift Examples

Because of Jackie Schmitt's passion for leadership development within ELW, her family, after her death, designated ELW as the recipient of memorials in her name.

Sya Gregovski is currently the Treasurer of the National ELW board and an active participant in Thompson MB. She has also served as president of the MNO Synodical ELW. Sya contributes to ELW by paying for a life insurance policy monthly and receives a tax receipt each year. ELW is the owner and will be the beneficiary of the policy when it comes due.

Mary Whyte, an active ELW member, conveyed a life insurance policy as a lasting gift to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada. Mary receives tax benefits now. She has also looked after her own congregation and ELW in her will.
